What is racism? According to “www. dictionary. com” (2014) “Racism is a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that ones own race is superior and has the right to rule others. ” The way it affects diversity is by people that are racist not being open minded and trying to understand or allow other races to live freely. How do racial groups interact in contemporary America?

According to “What’s NOT in MY wallet” (n. d. ) “Interactions are positive because they can be very beneficial for all parties involved, because by having contact with unfamiliar race and not only does it show support to other peoples background it is also encouraging so others will do the same. ” Are there existing social inequities based on race? I believe that there are still inequities based on race and the main inequity is the Inequality of Opportunities “which refers to the unequal distribution of life change across individuals where white males typically have more opportunities for wealth and success compared to black males. ” (Crossman, 2014) I believe that the causes of racial prejudice and discrimination in todays society has to do mainly with what is taught by the parents because there is a lot of diversity now in days and mostly everybody has learned to get along with other races to the point that most of the marriages are interracial and most of the children are mixed.See More on African American
