According to the article titled Cheating in School, “cheating has not been an issue of values, but simply one of practicality.” This shows that many view cheating as a insufficient occurrence and something that can often be skipped over. The reason cheating has become such a persistent movement is because students tend to rationalize their cheating behavior. A common rationalization that many students use is, “That’s the only way I’ll get anywhere in life.” Many students also tend to incorporate reasons, such as parental pressures, the aim to be the best, and the lack of time, with their dishonest behavior.
There have been many attempts to liberate the world of this problem, ever since; cheating has been a problem in our society. “Identifying the problem is only the first step toward our goal”, as said on the article Cheating in Our Schools, Colleges, and Universities. In order for students to gain their honor and trust from others they need to show them that they have changed and stop cheating.
Cheating is usually defined and interpreted by many people as the way a person procrastinates something until the last minute of the due time. That person usually gets desperate because of the oncoming bad mark or just plain out does not like to do his/her own work. So to make up for the time lost during the procrastinating that person goes to a person he/she has convinced to aid them in cheating, either by sweet talking them or plain out of the other person fear of their remarks if they do not cooperate with them, and gets the answers from them. In order to prevent this, the teacher usually keeps a close eye on his/her own students. Even that way the teacher cannot stop their students from cheating.

like to make several versions of their work for students to have a hard time cheating. But there is only so much a teacher can do. Students work in almost the same way nature works. Nature, like in the movie Jurassic Park, was being forced to stop from working the way it should. Even when the scientists in the movie made it hard for nature to do its work it still found a way around. Well in the same perspective students do the same. They will try and they will prevail in evading the firewalls setup by the teacher to stop them from cheating. It is nearly impossible for the teacher to stop their students from cheating.
For the cheating to stop the teacher would have to do one of two things I think are the best for stopping the students from cheating. One, the teacher would have to teach different things to each and every student in each class. That is impossible for one teacher since he/she may have up to five classes packed with students, and that kind of time to teach them all different things is just not easy to come by. Second, the teacher would just not have to care. There are some teachers that just do not care if the students learn or not. They just want their paychecks and that’s it. Cheating, we’ve all done it at least once in our lives, in all types of situations. It’s human nature to want to win and some of us will go against the rules to do so. It can be harmless, but in many cases it is annoying, or even hurtful. There are many forms of cheating used today in school. Some examples known today include copying a fellow student’s homework, copying someone’s answers off someone’s test, writing test questions down for another student. One of the wildest and bizarre forms of cheating known right now involves the use of a cell phone to pass answers during a final exam. In this type of cheating, student would send messages, via cell phones, to share answers on multi-choice portions of the final exam.
These are just a few example of cheating happening in school. Many of us ask ourselves, “Why do people cheat”? As said in the article Cheating in School: Why it happens and how to prevent it, “students cheat due to pressure, motivation, ethical standards, peer behavior, perceptions of teachers, perceptions of school work, and grade-focused environment”. Cheating is no help for anyone, it might be a way to gain a good grade sometimes, but you will never have that extra help from someone in life. You have to learn how to do it yourself in order to become someone in life some day. It is not fair for the people that do study to always have to give their answers to every other person that is just doing nothing and just coming to what is done easily. I personally have copied, but it never became a habit, I have also let others copy off of my assignments, which is also wrong because in one way you are helping them, but in the other hand you are just making things worse by giving them the answers in their hands. Letting them get a good grade doesn’t mean they will learn from it.
By cheating many people start lowering their self-esteem and start thinking, “Well, I just can’t make it”, which it’s impossible, because everybody can reach their goals if they propose it to themselves. Cheating can change a person’s personality in a bad way. I also belief that cheating happens at other places as well, like in relationships, work, and just life itself; there are plenty of ways to cheat. I strongly feel that cheating is a crime and very unethical. People who cheat don’t learn anything out of it. Instead they continue to cheat which eventually leads them to the wrong path of life. A person who cheats should be ashamed of themselves because cheating is not right. This should be intolerable. Cheating can lead to a daily habit which is not good at all. Cheating is wrong whether it is in school, on your taxes, or on your spouse.
Cheating is in a very high rate. Cheating has been upgrading little by little. It all began with little papers, writing on your hands, or even with signs to one another, but now a days students have begun to use MP3 players, cell phones, graphing calculators, zunes, ipads, and other handheld technology to store and access unauthorized information or to access the internet during tests. I strongly believe cheating is a crime and very unethical. People who cheat’s doesn’t learn anything out of it. Instead they continue to cheat which eventually leads them to the wrong path of life. Cheaters can claim other people’s work as their own and gets away with it. This should be unacceptable. There are a lot of ways of obtaining information and communicating with technological advancements that have given today’s society. With these advancements come the good and the bad. In academic environment, students have used technology as a productive way to study, read, and communicate, but have also implemented it in unethical ways such as cheating and getting by without doing work that is necessary to learn. By cheating, a person is not using their own idea. Using someone else’s ideas and claiming it to be yours is illegal. I think that the government should be enforced more strict laws on their policies for cheating.
The strict rules and regulations may prevent cheaters to continue to cheat and hopefully this will get justice to the people who do not cheat. This may or may not stop them from cheating, but by making it a law it might help some stop doing it little by little. Cheating on your spouse is one of the mayor problems on cheating. In fact, I know about this girl that has been married for eleven years and most of the time she has been cheating on her spouse. I think that is not correct at all, why get married or why have a boyfriend/girlfriend if you’re going to be looking for the same thing somewhere else. If you are not happy with what you have, then separate and that way you won’t hurt anyone. I strongly feel that cheating is a crime and very unethical. A person who cheats should be ashamed of themselves because cheating is not right. It can lead to a person’s bad reputation and a bad image on other people. It can also wreck someone’s friendship. Therefore cheating can impact very greatly on your personal life. Cheating in a relationship is usually a symptom of an unhealthy relationship. It destroys friendships, breaks trust, and causes guilt, anger, hurt and many other negative emotions.
Cheating in relationships is not going to last long till a separation. Many people think that they can go out with others without their spouse/wife finding out, but as a matter a fact the truth will always come out no matter what and it’s embarrassing that people will then start seeing you different. In fact, I’m remembering right now, that I had a very close friend and her husband went to jail for approximately four years, the first two years I would tell everyone, that I admired her for being such a good wife and a good mother for those kids. Time passed by and I started hearing stuff about her cheating on her spouse I couldn’t believe it at first because she was impeccable for me until I saw it with my own eyes.
As a friend I would give her advice, but she took it the wrong side and got mad with me. I was trying to help, but sometimes people that do that don’t want to listen to anyone not even Cheating is defined in the dictionary as, to deceive by trickery; swindle, however the dictionary fails to tell you if it is right or wrong to cheat. People have many different beliefs when it comes to cheating; some think it’s fine to do while others completely disapprove. A cheater would not be regarded as a good person but rather, a bad person and a liar. Cheating is out of control and it’s a selfish act. Cheating can lead to serious problems like getting dropped from school, college, work, or even in your friendships and marriages. Cheating has never been correct, no matter what. Cheating is usually in one’s own interest, and often at the expense of others. Cheating implies the breaking of rules.See More on Cheating
