First of all, what is corruption? It is an unethical method used by a people to gain advantage over others for their benefit. Corruption affects the growth of a nation adversely. Further, corruption has become something respectable in India, because respectable people are involved in it. In today’s scenario, if a person wants a government job he has to pay lakhs of rupees to the higher officials irrespective of satisfying all the eligibility criteria. Political corruption is worst in India. The major cause of concern is that corruption is weakening Tax evasion is one of the most popular forms of corruption.

It is mostly practiced by Government officials and politicians who lead to the accumulation of black money which in turn spoils the moral of the people. Major Factors Responsible For Corruption: The most important factor is the nature of the human being. People in general, have a great thirst for luxuries and comforts and as a result of which they get themselves involved in all unnecessary activities that result in monetary or material benefits. The punishments imposed on the criminals are inadequate.

The political leaders have spoiled the society completely. They lead a luxurious life and do not even care about the society. Now-a-days corruption can be seen everywhere. It is like disease in public life, It is like diabetes, can only be controlled, but not totally eliminated. When we talk of corruption in public life, it covers corruption in politics, state governments, central governments, “business, industry and so on. Corruption has a bad impact on our economy. It has made our country’s image worst in international market and lead to loss of overseas opportunities. It has been seen the officers who are given to look into the matters of corruption turn out to be corrupt. Though it seems very difficult to control corruption but it is not impossible. It is not only the responsibility of the government but ours too. We can eliminate corruption if there is Unity. We should all take a view to create an atmosphere free from corruption. That will be our highest achievement as human beings.
