The reason why strategic alliance was chosen is that Aztech Group Ltd is most likely to face different challenges, which are broadly classlfled as cultural, legal. olitical. conomic and market (Aztech Group Ltd 2012). Part 2, on the other hand, focused on the cultural and distribution factors. In this part, we would focus on whether the company has adequate Internal and external mechanism that will enable It enter Into new market successfully. Internal and external audit The companVs profile reveals that Aztech has well defined mission and vision. Its mlsslon Is based on principle of 5Es, which stands for Excelling. Extending, Enhancing, Engaging and Empowering.
The organization strives to excel as far as innovation and product quality is concerned. The company also has a mission of extending Its reach and presence In global market. In addition. the company strives to enhance the profitability and shareholders value and also to engage its customers. Another mission of Aztech group as far as 5 Es is concerned is to empower employees with resources and skills. Even from the mission statement. It is clear that the company has comprehensive mission statement, which cuts across all the key component of an organization.
Currently, the company has 7 sales offices in Singapore, IJSA, Germany, China, Hong Kong and Malaysia. It also has 1600 employees worldwide and customers from over 40 countries. The group has the right strategy and the right business model, and importantly, the right personnel to deliver better results. This Is evidence by the fact that the 2012 annual report reveals that the company has made significant progress in growing its new business segments largely through internally generated funds.
The group has also diversified its services and products to different groups, which include AZ e-llte, Az Marine, Az United, and Shiro. This has enabled the company diversify its operations. The importance of diversification is apparent when one considers how Azunited enabled the group human resource management is concerned, the company has best strategies for motivating and retaining employees. The company has stayed true to its mission of empowering employees with resources, skills and knowledge.
This is evidenced by presence of comprehensive talent recruitment and retention programs, performance appreciation, internal electrical communication platforms such as e-newsletter and Aztech connects, sports and recreation, safety and health management system. As far as its operations are concerned, the company strives to produce the best quality. As far as external environment is concerned, the company is striving much to be part of the community. The group has already come up with different ommunity involvement projects, which include walk for our children, where the company assists in fund-raising efforts for the less privileged segments of he community.
The company also participates in blood donation, and has come up with projects such as “A Glow of love to educate the public on the benefits of switching to LED lights and help brighten up the homes of the low-income elderly and families. As far as evaluation and control is concerned, the company is currently using balanced score card. Balanced score card is a management tool that is used to ensure that the bjectives of key aspects of an organization such as finances, processes, and employees are achieved.
It is actually a matrix that needs to be scored accordingly it have three major columns, the first column is perspective column, which covers key organizational perspective that needs to be met. These include the learning and growth, process, customer and financial perspective. The second column contains objectives of each of the perspective indicated, whereas the last column indicates the measures that an organization has taken to achieve the objectives indicated. The ajor advantages of this score card are that it is used to ensure balance across major areas of focus such as finance, customer, processes and learning and growth (Harold 2003).
Recommendations As the company enters into Australia, I would recommend that it adopts better control processes such as PRINCE2 approaches. This approach is effective because it define the scope of the project and gives the basis for planning and control, that is, how then to plan and supervise product delivery, bring together people and activities, and what to do if products and therefore the scope of the project has to be ttuned if it does not build up as planned (Harold 2003).
As far as implementation cost is concerned, the company will not have to incur a lot of cost. This is because a strategic alliance is a Joint effort by two or more companies linked together in the supply chain to reduce the total cost of acquisition, possession and disposal of goods and services for the benefit of all parties Conclusion In conclusion I must reiterate the fact that the company is doing well as far as internal and external environment is concerned and that the company has several nternal and external strengths than weaknesses.
