This paper explores the issues of hope versus disillusionment, and dreams versus reality in the novel “Don Quixote”. The author provides examples of the state of illusion and dreams of the protagonist, Miguel de Cervantes.

Don Quixote apparently not only believes that the fiction he has read about knights and their ladies are true, but that they are happening within his lifetime. Without this time confusion, the rest of his delusion would fall apart. ”
