Everyone has to understand and be able to use his strengths and weakness in a good way to succeed in life. Our everyday life, whether at work or at home is affected by how we use our strengths and weakness. We can improve our strengths and work on our weakness to achieve positive goals in life.

The most successful people know that by working on their weaknesses can bring significant results. I learn more and more about my strengths and weaknesses everyday. I was raised in a big, held together family with family values and knowing whatβ€˜s right and what’s wrong. That shaped my life in a significant way to how I approach everything from work to personal relationships.

I learned to respect everybody regardless of his or her beliefs and different views. That helps me at work to listen to my teammates different ideas and work with them in a positive way to achieve results.

I am also ambitious and have strong loyalty to my family and friends. My ambition to be a better person and succeed in life made me start school as well as trying to look for work full time work and helping my parents out with their needs. I am strong willed and want to achieve the most in life. I was working at my current job for 5 years and have been promoted twice fast, then I got medically discharge from the navy, and it made me very upset. My strong will help me climb up the ladder and be a better person.

My respect for my teammates earned me their respect and has created a pleasant and effective work environment. My loyalty has given me close friends who have been my friends for a long time and have helped in tough times and remained close in good times. I have a big heart and never hesitate to help any of my friends in their time of need. I love children and love taking out my son, nieces and nephews to movies and park. My family gives me strength and good heart to help others. Patience is another of my strengths.

I have learned to be patient with people and not get easily frustrated. This has helped me a lot at my work and working in a team environment. Patience gets work done. I try to stay calm in whatever I am doing and focus all my energy in completing my tasks. This has helped me a lot get through tough times. I have weaknesses too like any other person. I have come to realize that I can trust someone too quick and only see the good side of other people. I had friends who betrayed my trust when I did everything to help them and be true to them.

This has made me cautious to opening up to people but I am still the same person with a generous heart, who still has affection for other people. I have not let these weaknesses change me as a person. I also take some things too serious when I should not. In personal relationships and work, I have realized that I get too much involved in things that do not require all my focus and energy. I have let simple, unimportant things affect me in a negative way. I am trying to take things easy and not let simple things bother me.

I also have a bad memory. This has caused me embarrassment sometimes, but I am trying to work on it. Sometimes making it a point to take notes so I do not forget. One who identifies and learns from his or her mistakes has the best chance to succeed in life. Nobody is perfect and everybody has areas that need improvement. In writing this essay, I had time to do some critical thinking about me as a person. I think I need to be a better judge of character and not put too much trust into friendships, which end up not being worth it.

I also need to focus my energy on things that are truly important to me, my family and not waste my time on issues. I have drawn out a plan of action for improvement in areas mentioned above. I am going to approach new friendships with extra caution and not put too much trust too fast. I am going to take a step back and take things easy as they come.
