Each pick that we make dramas out otherwise in our lives. We can look back and inquire what would hold happened if we choose otherwise. But that is outweighed in what we would hold missed. Each pick affects who we are, where we are traveling, and furthermore our lives.
The character had two roads to take from and admirations what would hold happened had he taken the other route. Frost s rubric reflects this. The first three lines, & # 8220 ; Two roads diverged in a xanthous wood, / And sorry I could non go both /And be one traveller, long I stood & # 8221 ; , tell us the talker must take between two roads he finds every bit appealing. It is evident the storyteller has a hard pick to do and is carefully sing his options.
In the first stanza, the accent is on the route that was non traveled. The character wants to go both roads, but he can non and be one traveller. There is a strong sense of admiration before the pick is made because he knows that in one life-time he can non go down every route. And that at this point in clip one of the roads must be chosen.
After the pick of roads is described and considered, Frost writes & # 8220 ; Oh, I kept the first for another twenty-four hours! /Yet cognizing how manner leads on to manner, /I doubted if I should of all time come back. & # 8221 ; This is where the storyteller makes his pick. Here, he knows he is bound by that pick. He wants to keep on to the other possibility, but knows this can non be. His pick becomes the route taken. The pick he did non do, go & # 8220 ; The Road Not Taken. & # 8221 ; He takes the other route
that is grassy and wanted wear. The route he chooses has a better claim, because it is the route that is less traveled on. By taking this route, a hint to his personality is revealed. He is the type of individual that wants to seek something new and different. He makes the pick based on who he is and what picks he has made in the yesteryear. Knowing that this pick will once more alter his life and convey him new experiences.
In the 3rd stanza, the image of the foliages that cover the land have non been stepped on and no measure had trodden black, indicates that no 1 has walked down the route since the foliages have fallen, hence depicting a route non traveled. That way does non suit who he is at this occasion in life. I kept the first for another twenty-four hours, relates to his desire to go down both waies. cognizing how manner leads on to manner, means that he is cognizant that all future life picks will be affected because of the route he chooses to go. In this stanza he realizes that one time his determination is made there is no turning back. With the suspiration that he makes, it might look that he is unhappy with his determination, he is non. I took the route less traveled by, and that has made all the difference, means that he does non repent taking the less traveled route because if he had non, he would non hold had the life experiences that he did. The pick that he has made allows him the freedom and the ability to see that it was a good pick at that case in clip.
This verse form is about picks: because of our inability to take two waies at one time. But more than that, it is about the picks one makes at a certain point in their life.
