Well Written

Well-written essays incorporate the concepts of writing keeping the audience in mind so they can experience the writer’s intended point; the audience can either accept or reject the writer’s perspective. Developing an outline, planning topic sentences, and identifying supporting points are three important concepts in planning to write an essay; by applying these concepts in planning, it allows the audience to follow the flow of ideas in a writer’s final essay.

In planning and writing my final essay, I will incorporate the three concepts by starting with my topic, and organize thoughts, putting them on paper so the connections and links of ideas are clear. By developing an outline, structuring my thoughts, this serves as a foundation for my paper. Making an outline, starting with main ideas, leaving spaces between each to write smaller ideas that relate to each main idea will allow me to see the connections and helps in planning topic sentences.

By this point, I can use one of the main ideas as an introductory sentence and my smaller ideas can be supporting points; the outline becomes the body of the essay and each idea argues, explains, or describes the topic. This allows my first draft to come together smoothly, I will include my thesis keeping in mind to grab the audience’s attention, and my conclusion sentence summing up ideas, providing a final perspective of the topic. Reading my first draft and making corrections will be effective in writing my final essay.
